How to get rid of insects in the garden

Nothing spoils a garden faster than a few pests. Sprays and gasses that do the trick to kill insects can also harm your garden and the environment in general – to say nothing of how unpleasant it can be for you, your children, or your pets to breathe in!

Store bought chemicals can get pretty pricey, too, and in most cases, there are methods to solve most insect related problems that plague you.

We should think about the lighting that would give our garden more charm and accent its character. We can light the paths, parts of the walls, water ponds and elements of garden architecture – all to make it look more wonderful, peaceful and original.

How to save water in garden

One of the most essential things that we do in the garden is watering. Most of the plants needs to be regularly watered. Especially when it’s hot and not raining. Giving plants enough amount of water has a huge impact on look of decorating plants and amount of fruits in the vegetable and fruit gardens. But let’s think how much water do we need to use for this purpose?

To water the grass in our garden we usually use 5 litres at meter square. When we water flowers, trees we use sometimes even 20 litres. And such usage will last from spring to autumn. If your garden has in example 300 metre square and you need in example 10 litres for one and we have 120 of watering days. If you count it you will get 360 000 litres of water. (more…)

After a long winter, gardeners are eager and anxious to get their landscaping up to par. Many gardeners go the extra mile to add personal flair to their backyard gardens. At first, it may sound like a lot of extra work, but by adding a few simple additions, you can transform your typical flower garden into a backyard retreat.

This will cost a bit extra, but should be very affordable. Many people do not consider their gardens usable outdoor space. This is a huge mistake! While you enjoy your own work in the yard, why not make it so others can enjoy it as well?

A fast and easy way to spruce things up is to add lighting. Small solar lights will add accent lighting and will provide a warm glow in the evening. Interesting Usage of Garden Furniture

The end of the winter is a good time to plan some changes in our garden. We are planting, watering, cutting the grass – all thos works might be pleasant for us but sometimes painful. And the garden is not just a place where our spine pain is beginning. It should be also used for a relaxing times. That’s what we have garden furniture for.

When we are inviting friends to our home and we are willing to show them our garden, it’s not only beautiful flowers or trees they will be happy to see. Your friends will probably look for a comfortable place to sit and relax with a cold beer or soda in their hands. And also have a nice chat with the host.

Probably we will have enough space to put a few benches, a hammock and a garden table there. But how to arrange the garden to not to ruine the whole design. Even more, to improve its look?

It’s probably all about choosing the right furniture that won’t take too much space and will match our plants, house and our expectations. For example very natural and wooden furniture would match almost every garden (wood would look perfect among the green) but plastic, glass or metal one defenitely not. When we are willing to make a fabulous design of our garden we usually hire a specialist. But when we decide to do it ourselves it’s worth to have at least a basic knowledge about designing. It’s not as easy as it seems especially when it comes to the green that when planted too intense can look bad and unhealthy. And that’s not what every gardener wants!

One of the most interesting thing when having a garden is that every garden is different. And each one shows its owner characters. But every garden design project bases on the same elements which in some aspects are enforce the look of the garden and its usability. Many people know those things almost instinctively but some people have to make mistakes at first to do it right in the end.

Gardens say a lot about us and to not to waste time on mistakes in garden designing let’s get to know something about this or hire the architect. When architect is a real specialist thanks to his experience and years of practice he will make exactly the project that we need. The architect will help us find a good solution to arrange the relaxing part of the garden and the green one. He will also find the best place for both of them. (more…)
