Poison ivy – also well-known as toxicodendron radicans – is a kind of plant that is believed to be apart of the Anacardiaceae category. Many of us learned about this plant when we were youngsters and were told to keep far from it as we can. This plant is not really an ivy – but is instead a woody vine that has the ability to produce the substance urushiol.
