Description
Leaves alternate, often red or white-spotted. Flowers in 1-sided clusters, yellow, borne among numerous purple bracts. Corolla nearly regular, tubular.
How to Grow
Start seeds early indoors. Transplant to sunny borders (or, in hot climates, to partially shaded sites) after danger of frost is past. Where summers are cool, direct seed in late spring and thin to 12 in. (30 cm) apart. Prefers cool weather.

Honeywort . To 20 in. (50 cm) high. Flowers to ¾ in. (19 mm) long, yellow, tipped with purple, protruding beyond the colored bracts. Greece. Hardy annual.
