Kath-ar-an’thus. A genus of 5 species of annual or perennial herbs native to the tropics of the Old World.

Description
Leaves opposite, entire. Flowers borne singly or 2-3 together, the corolla tubular, the lobes spreading to form a flat, platelike apex.

How to Grow   
Sow seeds indoors and germinate at 70- 80° F (21.0-26.5° C). Plant out once danger of frost is past. Prefers warm weather.

Catharanthus roseus
Madagascar Periwinkle . Erect, growing to 2 ft. (60 cm). Flowers showy, 1 in. (4 cm) across, pink or white, often with reddish eye. Madagascar. Heat and humidity resistant. Tender perennial grown as a tender annual.
